ABOUT THE MOBILE MARKETS
Arcadia’s Mobile Markets launched in 2012 to address a fundamental injustice in the food system: the overwhelming lack of healthy, affordable fresh food in lower-income neighborhoods. When the pandemic stay-at-home order came down, the Mobile Markets swung into action two months ahead of schedule, launching free food distribution, pre-orders and socially distant walk-up markets to help our customers - already among the most vulnerable in the city -- get affordable, convenient access to fresh healthy food at a time when grocery shelves were lean and lines were long. The Mobile Markets sell a complete diet of 100% locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs and proteins, so it’s good for local farmers too.
This vegan picnic menu supports Arcadia’s work to get fresh food - especially fruits and vegetables - into the hands of those passed over by the prevailing food system.
